The Beat the Heat program is run solely on the funds from sponsors. Not one tax dollar has been contributed to this program. Although our Police Departments' names appear on the cars in the program, as well as any advertising for the program, we are not funded by any department or government agency. We are simply given the opportunity, by our chiefs, to arrange our schedules to facilitate racing on designated program nights.
